How to play StickFrag
StickFrag is a free first-person shooter with stickmen, drawn like a comic. Here are the controls, the two game modes and the tips that win fights.
Start a match
Open stickfrag.com in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Type a name of 3 to 16 letters, digits or underscores, pick a mode and press PLAY. You join a match that is already running, and bots fill the empty seats, so there is always somebody to fight. There is nothing to download and no account.
In the play menu you choose how to play: online with other players, against bots on your own, or in a private room with friends. A private room has a code: send the link, or your friends type the code under "Got a room code?" on the home page.

Game modes
Team deathmatch
Blue against orange, eight against eight (ten against ten on Depot). Before every life you pick a loadout: a main gun, a sidearm and a grenade. Every kill scores a point for your team; the first team to 100 wins, or the team ahead after ten minutes. Strong guns lie on the map between the two halves, so the middle is where the fights are.
Gun game
Everyone fights everyone, and everyone starts with the same gun. Two kills give you the next gun: M4, AK, machine gun, SMG, shotgun, sniper, hand cannon, revolver, pistol and silenced pistol. After the last gun you get the knife, and one kill with the knife wins the match.
Weapons and grenades
There are twelve guns, from a fast SMG to a bolt-action sniper and an RPG, plus three knives. Every gun is open from your first match. The weapons page has each gun's damage, fire rate and hits to kill.
Grenades come in three kinds: a frag grenade that explodes, a flash that blinds whoever looks at it, and smoke that hides a street. Health comes back on its own: stay out of fire for a few seconds and it fills up again.
Tips that win fights
- Aim for the head. With most guns a head hit does two to four times the damage of a body hit.
- Stand still to shoot. Bullets spread when you run and even more when you jump. Stop, then shoot.
- Aim down the sights at range. Right click tightens the spread and zooms in.
- Crouch with a machine gun. Crouching steadies a gun fired from the hip.
- Reload behind cover. A reload takes one to four seconds, and the machine gun takes the longest.
- Use the knife. Two stabs kill, and you run a little faster with the knife in hand.
- Watch your team mates. In team deathmatch, bullets and grenades hurt your own side too.
- Learn the maps. Roofs, windows and containers give you angles others do not expect. See the maps.

Is StickFrag free?
Yes. Money never buys power: every gun is open to every player from the first match.
Do I need to download anything or make an account?
No. StickFrag runs in the browser. You type a nickname and you are in a match.
Can I play on a Chromebook?
Yes. See StickFrag on a Chromebook for settings that keep it smooth.
Can I play on a phone?
Not yet. For now StickFrag needs a keyboard and a mouse. Touch controls are on the plan.
Someone is cheating or rude. What do I do?
Press Esc and choose Report a player. We review every report. The terms explain how we moderate.
