Terms of use
The rules for playing StickFrag, and what we do to keep it fair and safe.
Last updated 2 October 2026
The short version
- StickFrag is free. You need no account. Anybody may play; young children with a parent's permission.
- Play fair: no cheats, no bots, no attacks on the server, and no offensive nicknames.
- We filter nicknames, check match numbers for cheating and read player reports. A player who breaks the rules can be renamed, matched only with other suspected cheaters, or blocked.
- Report a player with Esc → Report a player, or by email. You can ask us to look again at a decision about you.
- Your rights as a consumer stay in force. Nothing here takes them away.
1. Who we are, and these terms
StickFrag is run by the operator named in the imprint ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the game at stickfrag.com/play, the website and the ideas board. When you play or use the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use StickFrag.
How we handle data is on the privacy page. It is part of these terms.
2. Who may play
- Anybody may play. We ask for no age, no account and no real name.
- StickFrag is a cartoon shooter: stickmen with comic-style guns, and no blood. A parent decides whether it suits their child. Children under 13 should play with a parent's permission.
- A parent or guardian is responsible for how their child uses StickFrag.
- Do not use your real name, school, address or other personal details as your nickname.
3. The game is free
- The game costs nothing. Nothing in the game is for sale, and nothing you can buy makes a player stronger.
- Your level and XP are kept with a random code in your browser (see the privacy page). If you clear this site's data or change browser, the progress is gone. We cannot restore it.
- Progress has no money value. You cannot sell or trade it. We can reset XP for everybody, for example when we change the level system, and we remove XP that was won by cheating.
4. Rules
When you play StickFrag, you must not:
- Use cheats, aimbots, wallhacks, macros, modified game code, or any tool that plays for you or shows what the game hides.
- Use a bug on purpose to get an advantage. Tell us about it instead, with the feedback button.
- Choose a nickname that is offensive, hateful, sexual, or about violence against real people; that pretends to be another person, a moderator or StickFrag; that advertises something; or that contains personal details.
- Attack, flood, overload or scan our servers, or try to open pages that are not meant for you, such as the admin page.
- Collect data about other players, or run automated clients against our servers.
- Send reports or feedback that you know are false, or send them again and again to harass a player.
- Put illegal content, threats, or other people's personal details into feedback or reports.
- Copy the game, its code or its art, or run your own copy of our servers. See section 10.
Playing hard is fine. Camping, sniping and knife-only runs are part of the game.
5. What you send us
- Nicknames are shown to the other players in your match and on the scoreboard.
- Feedback and ideas. When you send an idea or a bug report, you allow us to use it, change it and build it into the game, for free and without naming you. We write the ideas on the public board ourselves; your message is never shown there. Do not send anything you do not want us to use.
- Likes on the ideas board count once for each player who has played a match.
- Reports go only to us. The reported player is not told who reported them.
6. How we moderate
We want a fair game that is safe for children. We use these tools. Some work automatically, with no person involved at the moment they act.
| What | How it works | What can happen |
|---|---|---|
| Name filter | Automatic. Every nickname is checked against a list of blocked words and patterns before it is shown. | The nickname is refused, or replaced with a generated name. |
| Name reports | Automatic. When three different players in one match report a nickname, the game acts at once. | The player gets a generated name. |
| Cheat detection | Automatic. The server compares each player's match numbers (for example accuracy, reaction time, sudden snaps onto a target, and aim that follows players behind walls) with normal play. Each sign gives points. Reports for cheating add points only when the numbers already point to cheating. Points halve every 14 days without new signs. | With some points: no XP. With more points: the player is matched only with other suspected cheaters, and so is their network for 24 hours. We do not tell the player, so cheaters do not learn how to avoid it. No automatic step blocks a player. |
| Player reports | A person reads reports and the match numbers before any block. | A block of the browser code, for a time or for good, and of the network for up to 24 hours. |
| Feedback | A person reads it. | We delete messages that break section 4. |
| Flood limits | Automatic limits on how many joins, messages and reports one network can send. | Extra requests are refused for a short time. |
A whole school or household can share one network. We therefore block a network only for a short time, and we decide on blocks with care. When you think we made a mistake, see section 8.
7. Report a player or illegal content
In a match, press Esc and choose Report a player. To report illegal content anywhere on StickFrag, or something the report button cannot reach, email [email protected] with:
- what the content is and why you think it is illegal or against these terms;
- where it is: the nickname, the map, the date and time, or the page address;
- your name and email address, so we can tell you what we did (not needed for reports of child sexual abuse material);
- a statement that you report in good faith and that your report is correct and complete as far as you know.
We confirm that we got your email, look at it quickly and with care, and tell you what we decided. We report a threat to someone's life or safety to the police.
8. Decisions about you, and how to appeal
- You have no account, so we usually cannot reach you. If you think we renamed or blocked you by mistake, email us with your nickname and roughly when you played. If we need your browser code to find you, we tell you how to copy it.
- We tell you what we did and why, and which rule it was based on. A person who did not make the first decision, when we can, looks at it again. We answer within 14 days.
- If we were wrong, we undo the decision.
- You can always take a dispute to a court. Section 13 says which courts.
We can stop handling reports and appeals for a while from somebody who often sends reports that are clearly false. We warn them first.
9. Brands in the game, and tips
- The billboards, trucks and posters in the maps show made-up brands. If real brands appear later, their art will carry an AD mark, and every player in a match sees the same art. We never choose ads for you from data about you. We do not answer for the products of a brand.
- You can give a tip through an outside service such as Ko-fi. A tip is a voluntary gift to support the game. It buys nothing and gives no advantage or reward in the game. The outside service's own terms apply to the payment. Under 18? Ask a parent first. A parent who did not agree to a tip can ask us for the money back.
10. Our rights, and what you may do
- The name StickFrag, the game, its code, its maps and its art belong to us.
- You may play the game in your browser for your own use.
- You may stream StickFrag and make videos and screenshots of it, also on channels that earn money. Please link to stickfrag.com. Do not suggest that we sponsor or support your channel.
- You may not copy, sell or publish the game, its code or art, make a clone of it, or take it apart to build cheats.
- StickFrag uses open-source software. The open-source licences list it, and those licences apply to those parts.
11. Changes, and when the game is down
- StickFrag is a game in development. We change maps, weapons, modes and rules often. We can pause or end the game, and we try to say so on the site first.
- We do not promise that the game is always available or free of bugs. Servers restart when we deploy a new version.
12. Liability
- The game is free and comes as it is.
- We are liable for damage that we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, and wherever the law does not let us limit liability.
- Otherwise we are not liable for lost progress, lost matches, lost time, or indirect loss.
- We are not responsible for sites outside StickFrag that we link to, such as a tip page.
- Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer law gives you.
13. Law and disputes
- Swedish law applies. If you are a consumer in another country, the consumer law of your country still protects you where it gives you more.
- Talk to us first: most problems are solved by email.
- A dispute goes to a Swedish court. A consumer in the EU can also go to a court in their own country.
14. Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the game changes. The date at the top shows the last change. When a change matters to players, we point it out on the site. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
15. Contact
Questions, reports and appeals: [email protected], in English or Swedish. More in the imprint.
